What materials are NOT cruelty-free?

okay.... i feel a little stupid and bummed out right now :(





i am against fur, leather, and anything that is made from cruelty. and i already try to use brands and products that are cruelty-free.





but i was just looking into wanting some ugg boots, and i just saw that they are made from SHEEPSKIN. is that actual sheep's SKIN?

what exactly is sheepskin? do they get it the same way they get fur? by skinning alive and killing the sheep???? if not (hopefully), are ugg boots cruelty-free?





but this got me thinking.... what other materials (like fur, leather, etc...) are NOT cruelty-free? and i know aussi wool is cruel, is ALL wool cruel? is it cruel to shave sheep?





and is there a website that lists all materials, products, ingredients, etc.. that are NOT cruelty-free?

What materials are NOT cruelty-free?
Down and silk both come from animals, too. Sometimes geese are killed, then plucked. Other times they are live plucked...meaning they have all the under feathers pulled out repeatedly during their lifetime. Silk is made from unwinding the silkworm's cocoon (the worm inside is killed first).

Reply:diamonds. well u can ask for conflict free but they are few. if u see the movie blood diamond its amazing it shows how diamonds actually get here. little kids are forced to work in mines. some get there hands chopped off or they get shot if they refuse. its so sad. then all these stupid hollywood people can tlive without diamonds and its hurting little children out there. think bout it poor little kids are dying just so someone can have a stupid rock on there hands or something
Reply:sheep wool doesn't hurt the animal-they shave it off, but it grows right back again for the winter time!!!
Reply:I thought the sheepskin was the sheep wool on the inside because sheep wool does not harm the animal.
