4 those of u who own Uggs, Does it bother u that they have 2 kill sheep?

After helping popularize UGGs, Pamela Anderson is now boycotting the boots after learning they're made from real sheepskin.





"I'm getting rid of our Uggs," Anderson, 39, writes in her online diary.





"I feel so guilty for that craze being started around Baywatch days – I used to wear them with my red swimsuit to keep warm – never realizing that they were SKIN!"





It seems Anderson, 39, thought the boots' woolly lining was attached to a synthetic backing. In fact, the boots are made from sheepskin with the fur intact. "I thought they were shaved kindly," she writes.

God gave us dominion over the animals so that we could utilize them. The only problem I have is that the poor sheep had to die to make boots that ugly.





(Alright, the point I think everyone's missing is that they can't shear a sheep to get it's skin, because it's their SKIN. They can shear the wool but to use the skin, well, sheepy's gotta die. To that end, I still really don't care.)

I never listen to the opinions of celebrities as most of the time they are paid to have opinions. Anderson draws a HUGE salary from peta and she's paid to say what they want her to say. And let's be serious here, since when is Pamela Anderson an expert on anything? I think Pamela Anderson should stick to modeling, banging rock stars, and using silicone body parts and anything that doesn't require her to think. Since sheep will die regardless, all animals will die regardless of anything I do or don't do and everything dies eventually --sn't it better that they be made into something warm and useful rather than be tossed into a landfill where rot and they pollute the environment? Sheep not exotic nor are they endangered in any way and I would rather make choices that protect rare animals that are in true danger and are at risk of going extinct.





Synthetics are made from petrochemicals, and petrochemicals are neither animal friendly, nor earth friendly nor eco friendly. The manufacture of synthetics promote environmental damage, global climate change, they make the oceans and the air we breathe toxic, and the sourcing of the crude oil used in sourcing of synthetics destroys forest, rain-forests, wetland, and kills far more animals than that pair of uggs does. So that fake plastic boot your wearing is responsible for that oil slick that killed thousands of shore birds, ocean fish and ocean mammals. How does THAT feel? Thoughts?

Reply:Pamela is ditzy...but i agree with EM poor sheep had to die to become ugglies. Anyway, she still wears leather which comes from animal skins.
