4 those of u who own UGGS, would u change ur mind if u knew they killed sheep 2 make them?

After helping popularize UGGs, Pamela Anderson is now boycotting the boots after learning they're made from real sheepskin.

"I'm getting rid of our Uggs," Anderson, 39, writes in her online diary.

"I feel so guilty for that craze being started around Baywatch days – I used to wear them with my red swimsuit to keep warm – never realizing that they were SKIN!"

It seems Anderson, 39, thought the boots' woolly lining was attached to a synthetic backing. In fact, the boots are made from sheepskin with the fur intact. "I thought they were shaved kindly," she writes.

Thoughts?

i see your point man, i really do....its just that a lot of girls dont really care about taht because they want so badly to be "in" or "cool"....hopefully you change someones mind though. i never liked uggs in the first place...
Reply:most likely...

i already own uggs, so ill just wear mine but wont buy any new ones. im against wearing fur.
Reply:What a surprise... here I've been lying awake wondering why they're called SHEEPSKIN BOOTS.

I don't own any uggs, only fakes, but I don't exactly care either way. You must have some obsession with sheep or something. There are a lot of other types of shoes and clothes that use animals. Are you going to freak out over those too?

And would you chill? I don't think you're going to change many minds this way. How many accounts have you made?
Reply:i don't wear ugg boots and i'm happy about it.
Reply:UGGS R UGLY.
Reply:no. would you stop eating hamburgers
Reply:hahah no offense to her!

i think it's kind of stupid of her

not to know they we're made of

sheepskin..

especially when you buy them

there's a thing in the box

that says made of

"sheepskin."

LOL.

GOOD LUCK!

happy holidays!

Reply:SHEEP ARE NOT KILLED FOR UGGS.

They are killed for meat and then they use the hide for the boots.
Reply:still wear them
Reply:Well, I already knew this, but I have a question for you.

You seem so concerned about these sheep, but do you use animal based products? Chances are that you eat meat and wear leather. Chances are that if you use cosmetics, they are probably tested on animals. Chances are that if you wash your hair (which i hope you do), some of the ingredients in your favorite shampoo are animal-based.

So what do you want the ugg company to do? Make their products out of faux sheep skin??? Well, one thing that you probably don't know is that synthetic fibers are HORRIBLE for the environment. What I hate is that some people call themselves environmentalists and they don't act on what they supposedly believe. And even if these sheep stop being killed for their skin, what is that going to gain. Sure, there will be a bunch of happy sheep walking around, but if they stop making uggs out of sheepskin, Australia will have as many sheep as they do rabbits and then they would have to be slaughtered for no other reason than to keep the population down. Animals are killed for a reason. Its for us to 1) stay warm, 2) not go hungry, and 3) keep the animal population down. If you really care about the environment, you should be worrying about something else. Try global warming or the huge amount of pollution that is going on. Caring for these sheep is very thoughtful, but there are more important things going on right now.

And to answer your question, No. I would not stop wearing uggs (even though I don't own a pair).

Reply:That's infactly not true I have 3 pairs they said they bought skin from veal places for really cheap and now sell them for 100's
Reply:Ugh- they are so played anyways- I had them years ago when they first came out- now they are played- people who want them are not fashion forward- just fashion followers! And they look rugged and lose color- even after you waterproof them over and over they still get wet! I wish people would give up on Uggs and set there own fashion trends- by themselves!
Reply:She's a good person for trying to fix what she started. I admire her :]

Yes, I'm an animal lover and tree hugger.
Reply:Ugg to Pamela "Physically enhanced Anderson", who is also "synthetic".
Reply:yes i would.

i would get bootleg ones.

that dont use real fur.
Reply:If your right, that is pretty gross...but I would still wear them. You kill sheep and animals to eat anyways...so at least your not wasting the skin... i guess. Thats a good question though.
Reply:I don't care,

just wear them and feel proud.. feel how comfortable they are and feel like you are always in sheep. Didn't really think that much of how they were killed and stuff unless you are a sheep / animal freak.
Reply:omg can u just stop postin this? everybody knows there made of sheeps fur and im not gettin rid of mine, i hav 2 many

bella%26lt;33 xoxo
Reply:if i owned them i wouldn't care

animals are not better than humans

they're here on earth so humans can eat and live

and while i think killing animals to make shoes is bad, they probably use the meat

yeah i could care less
Reply:they dont kill them u idiot they use the wool which has 2 be shaved it grows backand they dont die and i sitll luv my uggs
Reply:omg! you've got to settle down about this! you've posted this a zillion times!

sorry but i still love uggs
