What would you .......?

what would you wear with these boots? If you give a pic that would be great.

(i'm skinny, attractive, asian, and short 5'2" and 22 years old. black hair and brown eyes.)

I'm getting skinny jeans and black pants for the boots. I don't think i'll wear a skirt.

I'm thinking this sweater and the white boots with tight black pants... but what else with the white boots?

Are you against or for uggs?

i know uggs are made of sheepskin. they kill sheep just for their skin. (they kill lambs for meat which i don't eat) i personally believe this is wrong, no matter how comfy and insulated these boots %26amp; other accessories are, it's not worth killing an animal. come on, do you really want to know you're wearing dead animal skin? killing animals for their fur is a disgusting process, and very violent. we don't need to skin animals anymore, like the indians did with buffalo along time ago, because we have other material now.

Do you have to really kill the poor sheep just to make a pair of UGG boots?

The answer is YES. The sheep has to be slaughted to obtain their hide and fleece. Now once the sheepskin hides are taken from the sheep then the process of preparing the hide for manufacturers and ensuring the hides are up to export standard begins.

Woolskins are usually preserved with salt prior to being processed by tanneries. At the tannery the skins are processed in large vessels called paddles which vary in capacity from 3000 to 15000 litres. In contrast to hide processing, in woolskin processing mechanical action is kept to a minimum in order to minimise felting of the wool. Rotating blades on the paddles move the skins slowly and gently, and processing is performed at much higher float ratios (typically 20-35 litres of water per skin) than are used in hide processing.

Typically it takes about 10 working days for the skins to be tanned and finished ready to be cut into panels for ugg boots.

Reply:i agree that that animals shouldnt be killed just for their skin . But, people eat their meat and the skin and fur is left over. Either way that animal is going to be killed either for food and then they make uggs or they make uggs and then they use the meat for food. I do own a pair of ugg boots and love them. I feel bad for the animals and dont wear leather and i dont like when people wear big fur fox or other animal jackets. However, I am for uggs.

Is anyone else here fed up with PETA and other animal rights people?

I grew up in the late 90s-early 2000s when it was considered a fashion sin to wear fur and their were a lot of PETA protests about fur. But in the recent years I've notice PETA doing more drastic stuff against people who wear fur and other animal skins. Funny how they never complained about leather or wool. But anyway, I grew up with the beleif it's wrong to wear fur but not neccessarily leather. I don't have any money really so I don't own any animal skinned clothes, except maybe leather boots (and those are probably fake). Anyway, I too love animals and I attempted a vegetarian diet about 3 years ago and only lasted a year on it. But after reading something about some guy who ate a corgi to protests the hunting rituals the royals do and also reading articles about PETA actually euthanizing cats and animals in private. I really, I'm starting to move to the other side, like supporting someone's right to hunt, fish, or wear fur. Which, I have to admit, I'm on the fence about that.

Reply:I agree completely. Some of those people are just nuts. I was an animal science major and would get a lot of grief for it from Animal Rights groups on campus. They actually protested a meats lab we were required to take... As for the corgi-eating protest... what exacty are they accomplishing? How hypocritical! Throw in member from the Animal Liberation Front and you've got a whole lot of crazy. I support animal WELFARE, but frankly I don't feel animals have "rights" other than the right to not be abused by higher beings on the food chain.

What coat?

I'm 14 and a girld and I'm wondering what a good coat would be for me.(one that's not bulky and maybe in style) but I don't want to have one of those with the fur trim of the hood or the northface ones. I want something that I wouldn't be embarrased to wear but isn't exactly what a ton of people are wearing, and is warm and prefferable not pink or some really girly color. What coat?
My daughter is 17 and very picky, she also didn't want puffy or frilly. She finally decided on a Pea Coat. Really cute, never goes out of style either. They have them in solids, plaid, or checked. All the stores are carrying them right now, yet there are so many different variations, not every one will have what you pick. Good Luck Honey! Oh, forgot to mention they are wool, so very warm.

FASHION HELP: i need new fashion ideas.?

Im 15 and a freshman in high school. I'm not really popular and im shy but im trying to make more friends. I need a new style so i can feel more confident. right now I pretty much just wear jeans a t-shirt with some design (usually some cute animal cartoon) and a plain sweatshirt. I dont want to look preppy so no abercrombie or hollister..unless its just like a sweatshirt or something..just not all out. I really like skinny jeans but i dont think my legs are thin enough to pull them off unless i got a dark wash..i also like boots but its really hard to find ones that i like made without fur..and im not gonna wear fur..i also really need a coat..

Reply:you are definitely thin enough to pull off skinny jeans. im 5'3" and 115 and i wear them all the time. I love the wet seal showstoppers. theyre not too skinny. kind of a cross in between skinny and straight.

get some lace trimmed camis and patterned tanks to layer under your tees. its instant glamour and its so much warmer in the winter. :). abercrombie and hollister and american eagle has them theyre not too preppy and theyre easy to wear. Ive also seen them at mervyn's, target, and JCPenny (i love the patterned ones from arizona)

rainboots are never made with fur and theyre convenient for winter, and come in a whole bunch of cute colors and styles. my friend has 5 pairs! Costco had a pair i liked last week for only 16.99, and ive seen them at target too.

-Emu's. They cost about 120$. You can get them pretty much anywhere that sells nice shoes, like for example I think they sell them at macy's. maybe journeys. I'm not completely sure, try google'ing it.

-Bear Paws. These boots cost about anywhere between 40$-60$. You can buy them at Foot Locker.

...seem to have any problem tromping around in leather boots/shoes/sneakers, carrying leather purses, and preaching about how fur is inhumane? I'm not trying to be nasty to anyone. I'm truly curious.

However, I am one. And I have no leather, or anything made out of animals and I am also vegan.

There are people who care about animals, (but just a little) those are the ones who go around preaching and yet they are hypocriates. And then there are people like me, and other true animal activists who are true to our word and aren't hypocriates.

It's the same thing when people call themselves vegetarian, and yet they still eat fish lol. Catch my drift?

Reply:Many of them actually wear pleather or faux leather. It's kind of the same as vegetarians wanting to stop killing animals but craving meat so they eat meat-shaped/flavored patties and what-not. Don't worry, though, I spent a long time wondering the same thing until I asked a friend.

I've always been against fur but I recently saw a rabbit jacket and rabbit boots that I fell in love with! What should I do...

Step away and face the truth, do not buy them. Do not even look at them again or you will be tempted. Don't let the consumer market possess you; just think if you think that if you buy it it won't make a difference, but what if a 1000 people bought them? That's 1000 rabbits (probably more than 1000) killed.

I look upon fur clothing with great disdain. My grandma had a fur coat and a weasel scarf (yes with the head still attached) and when she put the coat around me I nearly screamed. I do not even seem to comprehend how people can stand wearing another mammal's hide! It creeps me out and it is utterly disgusting.

My advice, do not buy them. You said you were against them right? If your still tempted after reading this minor answer, you can try to find clothing like around on EBay or online that uses fake fur instead.

You're right because if the clothes were already made, they'll be there forever until someone else will buy them. It takes lots of effort to commit something. One less person buying those clothes would mean one less animal dying. So think of yourself, will you feel alright after you buy those stuff (i know they must be pretty expensive) and put them on and walk around as another supporter of animal fur?? Reply:I've been against real animal fur products too. I know how that feels my mom got me a vest made from sheep but I didn't wear it. As much I am against it I bought boots made out of sheep skin. (I felt really bad but I fell in %26lt;3 with them they were the only real animal fur/skin I bought otherwise it's all faux) Ask them if they had already made the items and if they haven't don't buy them. It's probably already made but you could probably find faux rabbit stuff.

i am against fur, leather, and anything that is made from cruelty. and i already try to use brands and products that are cruelty-free.

but i was just looking into wanting some ugg boots, and i just saw that they are made from SHEEPSKIN. is that actual sheep's SKIN?

Down and silk both come from animals, too. Sometimes geese are killed, then plucked. Other times they are live plucked...meaning they have all the under feathers pulled out repeatedly during their lifetime. Silk is made from unwinding the silkworm's cocoon (the worm inside is killed first).

This may be hard to find, but if you can get a really warm hat that doesn't mess up your hair too much you'll be warm all winter (perhaps a Russian style hat). Most of our body heat escapes through our heads.

Once you have that worked out, the rest only needs to be slightly chill proof.

Layers on top.

Gloves when outside to prevent chaffed hands.

Tall boots, leggings, and long skirts will do a fair job of keeping you warm even if you get the occasional gust of wind from below.

While I'm not a fan of religious restrictions on women, I have to say I think you may at least look better than the other gals this winter; because, so many merely bundle up in flannel tops with jeans or sweats below until spring. Yuck.

I am 31 years old I am also 6'1 and a full figured woman. I choose to wear what styles I Iike no matter what the style is at the time, I choose to be me. Chocolate brown tommy and sugar desert boots.

Curly Or Straight hair?

outfit 1 seem nice with curly hair. but i have a nice picture of outfit 3 so i prefer tht with straight hair. (cant look to barbie-dollish for the cinema- you should go with a simple but nice look)

I am going as an Eskimo =D

I am wearing:

White abercrombie jacket/vest with fur trim

Shorts with brown leggings and chestnut Ugg Boots

My makeup will be:

Fake eyelashes with silver and black lashes

Glittery blue and silver eyeshadow

Light white shimmer on my cheeks

Clear rhinestones around my eyes

Nude lipgloss with light silver glitter

I am wearing my hair down (it is straight) with blue and silver glitter everywhere in it

I am also wearing snowflake sticker things on my neck with opalescent glitter.

What do you think?

I will be spending NYE in Amsterdam this year. I would like to not stick out like a tourist. What are the current styles in Amsterdam? UGGS; what color?

I am getting a pair of classic short UGGS and I can't decide what color to get! I have it narrowed down to chestnut and sand. I already have a pair of brown boots(not UGGS) and tall black bearpaws with fur on the outside trim, so I don't want black or brown. I like sand, but I think they're gonna get dirty, but I also like chestnut, only I'm not sure if they'll match all my clothes. Which ones should I get? And don't say both and please don't tell me that UGGS are ugly or out of style or anything because I already made up my mind about getting UGGS and nothing you say will change that, and it's my choice if I want them or not, so don't tell me not to get them. when i wanted uggs i had my choices down to what you have picked out. i ended up getting short sand uggs. and believe it or not they havent gotten any stains yet..(ha now watch that next time i wear them they get distroyed.) i think you should get the sand ones. i like them the most. just make sure that what ever pair you buy a spray with them so that you can keep them from getting ruined.
Reply:chestnut would be better; i have seen girls with sand and their boots are filthy after a month. make sure you spray your new boots with the water proofing stuff.

Reply:Get which ever ones you want to get. Like you said, If you think one pair matches more cloths that you have, get those ones. It just means, if you get the lighter pair, you will have to be careful with them and take care of them to keep them in good shape. It is really up to you. If you are really worried about them getting dirty, I would go with the other pair. Maybe you can save up your money and go on a little shopping spree to get a few clothing items to match those boots at some point. I love Uggs by the way. They are so comfortable. Some cheap fake ugg boots that are a cheap price, and also that are quite good, as my others get all sweaty and wet and i cant bear wearing them anymore as they are wrecked and all the fur has crumbled away at the bottom of the boot from all the wetness.

Try saving for the real deal, they will last alot longer and for more classyer looking jeans - wide leg is in this season and skinnys are hanging in there, plus they will look better tucked in the uggs.
